We are very proud of our children's sporting achievements and the wonderful ARK values they display whilst taking parts in events. Below are some of our recent sporting achievements.
Boys' County Football Champions
Boys' IPSSA Cup Final - Cedarwood v St John's The boys made the journey to Needham Market FC for today's cup final. It didn't really feel like June, with the rain and blustery wind! Both teams were led out by the referee through the tunnel and out onto the 3G pitch. All of the boys parents and family members (who were seated in the stand!) greeted the boys with applause. St John's made a good start to the game by scoring in the fifth minute, after they intercepted a pass being played out from the back. We then tried to respond to this setback in a positive way, by putting some passes together and pushing forward. The rest of the first half was evenly contested with both teams creating chances. We started the second half in a determined mood and after about five minutes we managed to score an equaliser. There was some good link up play down our left side, with a left footed shot looping over the keeper and into in the net! We were now back in the game, boosting the boys confidence. The boys were growing into the second half and were making good use of the entire width of the pitch. Mr Youngs and Mr Slade decided to make one last change from the bench as the game was moving closer towards extra time. This proved to be an inspired substitution as the player who had only been back on the pitch managed to score! We took a quick short corner and then the ball broke to us in the area. It was a low shot that went underneath the keeper's dive. The boys were ecstatic to take the lead, but knew that the game wasn't quite finished. All of the boys worked hard to defend their lead and to keep the opposition at bay for the last few minutes. The referee's whistle sparked great celebrations from the boys on the pitch and from those watching in the stand!! Final score: Cedarwood 2 St John's 1. A massive well done to all of the boys for winning the game and the trophy. It was great to see the boys celebrating with the trophy on the pitch!! Mr Youngs & Mr Slade
Cricket Competition
Last week the Year 6 cricket teams were in action. The teams did amazingly well and showed many ARK values (especially resilience and kindness). Both teams came second in their group and should be extremely proud for what they have achieved.
Girls' and Boys' Football League
Girls’ Football Home league game v The Oaks (9/5/24)
It was a competitive first half in which we created several opportunities. There were chances for both sides to score and the half time score was 2-2. The Oaks started the second half well by scoring an early goal. We reacted positively to conceding a goal by pushing forward to try and get an equaliser. The Oaks were able to score a fourth goal as we committed more players forward. There were several positives to take from the game despite losing. Final score was Cedarwood 2 The Oaks 4. Thank you to all of the girls that took part in the fixture.

Boys’ Football Home league game v The Oaks (9/5/24)
After watching the girls’ fixture it was the boys turn to face The Oaks. In very hot conditions the boys played some great attacking football. Towards the end of the first half we scored a fantastic goal that went in off the underside of the bar. We had other chances to score during the first half, but the half time score was Cedarwood 1 The Oaks 0. We made some substitutions at the start of the second half and continued to play some good passing football. We also defended well when we needed to and our keeper did his job confidently. We created several more chances to score but some of these efforts were just wide of the goal. Later in the second half we did well to score a second goal, which was another well taken finish. It was an excellent all round team performance, in which the boys deserved to win. Final score was Cedarwood 2 The Oaks 0. Thank you to all of the boys that played the game today.
