A Warm Welcome From The Headteacher

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our school website.  Cedarwood Primary is a friendly school situated in the heart of the Kesgrave community. Our staff, pupils, parents and governors are committed to achieving the highest possible standards. At Cedarwood, we value every child and aim to achieve Excellence and Enjoyment for All.  Children’s happiness and well-being is paramount and we seek to develop confident, creative individuals who share a passion for learning.

Our curriculum is carefully planned to bring the subjects of the National Curriculum to life so that pupils develop their knowledge and skills in a way that inspires their curiosity and equips them for their futures.  The success of the school can be seen in our well-rounded, happy and confident learners who move onto high school well-prepared for the next stage in their lives.

I am very proud of our school and hope this website will offer an insight into the fantastic things happening at Cedarwood.

TT Rockstars Competition - 7th May 2021

As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and high profile in our school, we are taking part in a friendly competition involving schools around the UK for NSPCC Number Day on Friday the 7th May. It’s all done online via play.ttrockstars.com.  For every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, your child will earn their class a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours). Winning classes in the school and in the competition as a whole will be the ones with the highest average.

All game modes (Gig, Garage, Studio, etc.) will count but only from games played between 7AM and 7PM on Friday the 7th of May.

In the spirit of the competition, please don’t play on their behalf but by all means encourage and support them to the extent that it doesn’t cause high stress levels or impact on family plans. We suggest a limit of half an hour a day outside school hours – some will play more, some will play less.

We have places in our current (2020/21) Foundation year group as well as in Year 2 and Year 3. You do not need to live in Kesgrave to apply for a place in our school and we are always pleased to have the opportunity to welcome new families to Cedarwood.
